Deanna S. Hatmaker, MSA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
Deanna S. Hatmaker is the Managing Director at Midwest People Development and recognized thought leader in leadership development, management coaching, organizational design and engagement, culture transformation and business planning.
For more than two decades, Ms. Hatmaker has worked with organizations as a senior leader in administration, operations and revenue generating divisions for public, private, not-for-profit and non-profit organizations. She has extensive international experience leading organizations through acquisitions, regulatory compliance, board relations and reporting, organization metrics, change management, business downsizing and expansions and more.
Under her energetic leadership, organizations Ms. Hatmaker has served have received awards for best places to work and accolades for creating and implementing solid organizational mission, vision and values. She enjoys maximizing business performance, building high performing teams, effectively communicating with stakeholders, guiding organizations through challenging change initiatives and promoting healthy workplace cultures. Ms. Hatmaker has been recognized for her leadership, excellence and dedication by organizations she has served.
Ms. Hatmaker’s professional activities have included teaching in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) program, serving as adjunct faculty at Eastern Michigan University and Baker College and guest lecturing at Central Michigan University and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. She has spoken on topics including executive compensation packages, leadership, diversity, change management, mergers and acquisitions and competency development.
Community outreach efforts have been an important part of Ms. Hatmaker’s personal message. She demonstrates her commitment through her service on advisory boards for state government, education, non-profit and financial institutions. Currently, Ms. Hatmaker serves on the Board of Directors with Michigan Parkinson Foundation, the business advisory board at Baker College. She is a past board member of the KiMe Fund with the East Tennessee Foundation, Ross Business Institute Employer Advisory Board and a past board member and chairperson of the Michigan Unemployment Employer Advisory Detroit Board.
Ms. Hatmaker holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Science and Administration from Central Michigan University. Additionally, she has completed numerous continuing education programs including Executive Education programs at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Ms. Hatmaker holds the Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM-SCP certifications. She is a licensed insurance agent through the State of Michigan in Accident and Health, Casualty, Life and Property. Ms. Hatmaker is a certified Gallup Strengths coach and workshop facilitator.
